The ground swallows them, and the last one tries to get away. THe DM rolls one die. He fails. The mud itself is bearing him still, and the large growth strains him so that he is immobile. It's Cresctor's turn.

Cresctor skips his turn, not wanting to waste his only spear or get caught in his own spell.

The alligator is long gone, to dine upon his kobold supper. It's Luck's turn. The last kobold doesn't get his dexterity bonus of 2 to his AC because he's immobile. So now you only have to get a ten to hit him.

20+5 = 25
to confirm a critical hit, I rolled 10+5 = 15

Luck gets a critical hit on the Kobold for 21 points. (7+0 = 7*3=21)

Luck draws the second time. 9+5 = 14 and hits for another 8 points.

Luck skewers the kobold through the skull, making him die within a second, but for the second arrow that shot him through the underside of his serpentine jaw. He squeeks as if his last dying call was a curse.

The savage marsh swallows him up greedily. Crestcor. The battle sequence has finished.

The DM looks a couple charts up.

You each get 250 XP and a lonesome black oak tree grows there when all settles down. The park remains quiet again until this day. Kobolds still tell tale to their youngsters to scare them about the Encounter at Preacher's Bone Levee.
